LUNAR CALENDAR

1st – full moon – a good time to finish projects
7th – Mercury goes direct – carry on
17th – new moon – a fresh start
31st – another full moon and completion time – two full moons in one month qualifies the second one to be a “Blue Moon” http://moonphases.info/august-2012.html
When my grandma used to say “once in a blue moon” she was saying it was a rare occasion because two full moons in the same month doesn’t happen very often.

Antiques, other people’s stuff and Feng Shui

If you love old things and/or a bargain, you may be drawn to some new antique or resale shops this summer on your travels. The feng shui principle dealing with “avoid other peoples’ stuff” may cause your mind some conflict. No worries.
Follow these simple steps.

  1. If you are drawn to an item, touch it. How does it feel to you? Let your intuition tell you if this is something wonderful or something to avoid. I’ve asked proprietors of these consignment type malls if they ever feel that an item or batch of things that come in has bad energy and they all said yes. It is fairly easy to recognize.
  2. If you still love it and can visualize where it would go in your home, how it would be used, then ask the sales person if they have any history on the item.
  3. Take it ( furniture, jewelry, whatever) home with you but don’t take it into the place you are planning to put it right away.
  4. If possible, leave it in the garage or put it in a sunny window.
  5. Leave it out in the sun for an entire day – or from the hours of 11 am -1 pm
  6. You can burn incense near it or put a lit white candle nearby. Stay there while it burns for about 8 – 18 minutes.
  7. Visualize that any remaining undesirable energy is leaving the item.
  8. Be physically cleaning the item – washing, dusting, polishing, etc… while you are spiritually clearing the item and making it your own.
  9. Reinforce with the Three Secrets Reinforcements*

The Unattainable Optimum Feng Shui

In feng shui we know that an perfect world, an ideal”home is a new home. It is a home that has no other people’s energy from the past (predecessor energy), no bad history or bad luck. Ideally there would be nothing but positive-ness all around us. Any idea of death or dying wouldn’t be in our realm of day to day existence.

  • You would never live near a cemetery or even pass by it on your way home if there was another way to get home,
  • You would never go to a grave or visit sick people in the hospital.
  • Your plants wouldn’t die in front of you, you would never have dried ones in your house.
  • Everything from people to appliances, mechanical things, etc., would be working and in excellent condition

As we know, we do not live in a perfect world. Not that much can be new. We buy houses that other people have lived in and have their stuff, too. It is unrealistic to think we can avoid the part of life that involves dying. That is why we have to go beyond the physical level to the transcendental or intentional. Put out your be intentions for what you want to happen and chances are better that it will.

Can your house affect you when you are not at home?

Why is it that many of us have the need to super clean house before we leave home for vacation or an extended period of time? Could it be you want to be sure nothing important is left behind? Feng shui has reasons for leaving an orderly house beyond looking good for the neighbor who is coming in to feed the gold fish and water the plants. Your environment affects you even if you aren’t there. You will take with you a better energy and have a better time. You will have a peace of mind when you are reasonably sure that all is well on the home front.

Go with the flow—

Feng shui works because of the energy you have and the impact energy around you has on you. When you tune into these energetic influences, you enter into a whole new world of possibilities easily and effortlessly. Take some time to tap into the natural order of things..

Feng Shui Travel Tips for an August road trip or Labor Day Get away:

As many of you long time clients know, some of us basically live in our cars and Feng Shui To Go came from the need to take feng shui with us on the road. We spend many hours confined in a small space as we go from home to work, from place to place. That fact is why some of us consider our transportation our second home. Feng shui principles, mostly the organizing part, can help you to have a happier and even safer trip when you think ahead for what you need for your journey.

  1. Before you leave home, visualize that you arrive at your destination safely. Once your intention is out there, the result has already manifested on some level.
  2. Put an enhancement, like a crystal, in the NE or the lower right hand corner of the house/room in this helpful people/safe travel area.
  3. You can put a very small crystal in the car with the 6 true colors for protection.
  4. Take audio books or CD’s to help keep you calm or wake you up – as required,
  5. Don’t forget to take a small cooler or insulator bag with you, your bottled water and snacks.
  6. Pack a lap cloth so you can drink without worry about what may spill.
  7. Put any tempting electronic devices in the backseat and ignore them until you are stopped.
